My Pantry Express is an innovative program designed by Northern Illinois Food Bank to reach neighbors not currently being served by the charitable food network in support of our mission to solve hunger in Northern Illinois.
The first-of-its-kind program offers a private, online food shopping experience and local pickup at convenient locations and times for food-insecure neighbors to more easily access the nutritious foods they need. Currently, the program is being piloted in DeKalb and North Chicago and volunteers are needed to assist with distribution at our pick up sites. Watch this VIDEO to learn more!
This pilot program is growing quickly and making an impact our communities that are most in-need. We need our donors and volunteers to help us grow this program as we’re on target to provide 1 million meals in the first year of the pilot alone!

My Pantry Express has volunteer opportunities throughout the week. From serving our neighbors directly at distributions to helping pack orders at our distribution center in Geneva, please get involved today and help us serve our neighbors!
Each pick-up site needs 5-10 volunteers that will greet neighbors, collect their order from truck and load into their car. A long-term commitment is not required – you can sign up for one shift, multiple, or every week!
