Northern Illinois Food Bank shares your concerns about privacy. In order to better protect your privacy, Northern Illinois Food Bank has provided this notice explaining our practices in handling donor (in this document donor includes volunteers and all other stakeholders who engage with the Food Bank) and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used by the Food Bank.

Privacy Policy

Northern Illinois Food Bank is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors and pledges its best efforts to that end. In general, you can visit Northern Illinois Food Bank on the Web without telling us who you are or revealing anything about yourself.

Our Web server automatically recognizes each visitor’s domain name, but does not automatically collect personally identifiable information. There are times, however, such as when you make a donation, sign up to volunteer or register for our email list, that we will collect specific information. If you choose to provide personally identifiable data, you may receive future information from us–by mail or electronically –advising you of upcoming Northern Illinois Food Bank events, services, or volunteer and support opportunities. We do not “share,” “rent,” or “sell” any information collected on our website.

In addition, donor information – which includes address, phone, and email –collected through offline channels by Northern Illinois Food Bank is not shared, rented or sold to any other organizations. Donor information provided to the Food Bank will only be used by the Food Bank for purposes of furthering our mission.

Opt Out

You may choose not to receive such information and/or to allow Northern Illinois Food Bank to use your information in the manner described above by simply notifying Northern Illinois Food Bank via email or at 630-443-6910. Upon receipt and processing of an “opt out” request, Northern Illinois Food Bank will, within its commercially reasonable amount of time, remove your information from any future marketing communications.

All content and materials on the Site including, without limitation, text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips and software included in the Site and any services offered on the Site, are the property of Northern Illinois Food Bank, its sponsors or business affiliates, and/or their respective licensors, and are subject to U.S. and international Intellectual Property Rights laws. Except to the minimum extent otherwise expressly permitted under copyright law, no copying or exploitation of material from the Site is permitted except expressly in accordance with these Terms or with the express written permission of Northern Illinois Food Bank and any other applicable copyright owner. Note to Parents

We are pleased when young people visit the website of Northern Illinois Food Bank to learn more about the organization and the problem of hunger across northern Illinois. Northern Illinois Food Bank does not knowingly solicit data from children and does not knowingly market to children.

Credit Card Information

Northern Illinois Food Bank has contracted the services of a banking partner to process credit card donations submitted online. Our banking partner’s secured server encrypts your credit card information so that it may be safely transmitted over the Web. Your credit card information will not be released to any other party by Northern Illinois Food Bank or our banking partner.

Refund Policy

All donations to Northern Illinois Food Bank are appreciated. The Food Bank only gives refunds on donations under the following circumstances:

• If the donor has submitted multiple donations when the intention was a single donation
• If the donor has made an error in the amount in which they wish to donate
• If there was an error on our part in billing a credit card transaction over the phone, at an event or entering a donation that has been mailed to our office

All refund requests must be made within 10 business days by contacting Julia Jones at (630)443-6910 ext. 166.

Security

Personal contact information is only accessible to staff and volunteers designated to access system for their role. Credit card information is not stored in the Food Bank database.
