Jewel-Osco®, BUSH’S® Beans and Feeding America® partner with Food Bank to help in the fight to end childhood hunger

They’ve partnered to donate 50,000 meals and thousands of cans of BUSH’S Beans to Northern Illinois Food Bank

GENEVA, Ill. (September 24, 2019) – Jewel-Osco®, BUSH’S® Beans and Feeding America® together are helping in the fight to end childhood hunger with a platform called Full Carts, Full Hearts.

Jewel-Osco is proud to support Feeding America by donating 50,000 meals this year and when a Jewel-Osco customer buys any* five cans of BUSH’S Beans until October 1st, 2019, a can of BUSH’S Beans will be donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

“Jewel-Osco has enjoyed a long partnership with Northern Illinois Food Bank and Bush Brothers,” said Anthony Suggs, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising. “Working together allows us the opportunity to serve our communities by keeping our donations local.”

The Full Carts, Full Hearts program caught the attention of BUSH’S Beans spokes-dog Duke, who holds the Secret Family Recipe. Thanks in part to his Region Manager Katie Thomas, Duke is making a special appearance on October 3rd at the Northern Illinois Food Bank (273 Dearborn Court, Geneva, IL) for the Jewel-Osco check presentation and the BUSH’S Beans donation that includes thousands of cans of beans. Duke will also drop by Jewel-Osco headquarters (150 E Pierce, Itasca, IL) to personally thank them for their partnership and helping the community in the fight to end childhood hunger.

“Bush Brothers is a community that makes a difference by providing nourishing branded bean products,” said Katie Thomas, Region Manager for Bush Brothers. “Our strong customer partnership with Jewel-Osco has allowed us to develop programs like this where we can also meet our goal of responsible citizenship in our communities.”

Northern Illinois Food Bank is a proud member of Feeding America and partners with more than 900 feeding programs across 13 counties to serve neighbors facing food insecurity.

To celebrate the partnership, the Food Bank has BUSH’S Beans on display, along with signage for the Full Carts, Full Hearts promotion, in their main lobby leading into the volunteer food processing hall, where 24,000 volunteers donated more than 136,000 hours of time to helping feed hungry neighbors.
