Northern Illinois Food Bank is excited to present our Nutrition Education curriculum. Developed for each food group in the USDA My Plate model, these lessons will encourage children ages 5-12 to eat healthy by taking an active role in the preparation of meals.
Each lesson includes a 15 minute instructional video which illustrates how to prep the food and shows an actual lesson with kids. There is a downloadable guide, recipe and activity for the children to take home.
Anyone is free to use this curriculum to encourage healthy eating with children in their community. If you are located in Northern Illinois Food Bank’s 13 county service area we may be able to help provide materials, food or subsidize some of the cost. You may complete the application for financial assistance and we will contact you.
