This new program was created by Northern Illinois Food Bank in partnership with Northern Illinois University Nutrition and Dietetics Graduate students. The Whole Body Approach program focuses on the mind and body to improve overall health. The Whole Body Approach program aims to encourage individuals to shift their ideas of health away from calculated ideas of food, physical activity, and bodies and towards mindfulness, intuitive eating, enjoyable movement, and body acceptance. This program is grounded in evidence-based practice and the concept that “diets don’t work”. What works is helping people return to their internal cues of hunger and movement. As mounting evidence grows, we are seeing that behavior change surrounded by internal regulators of change prove to be fruitful and sustainable. We hope YOU are enlightened and changed by this program.
