AmeriCorps VISTA Opportunity

Northern Illinois Food Bank is currently recruiting for our next rotation of AmeriCorps VISTAs who will assist with communications, community gardens, senior hunger, agency capacity building, community engagement and volunteering. More About the VISTA Program

Below are the available Northern Illinois Food Bank AmeriCorps VISTA positions:

  • Capacity Building: DeKalb | Winnebago | Kankakee
    Work with the Food Bank’s Network Partners (food pantries, youth nutrition sites, soup kitchens, and more)
  • Community Engagement: Joliet | Park City | Rockford
    Secure grants and engage the community
  • Senior Hunger: provide Nutrition Education to all Senior Grocery Program partners
  • Communications: review and recommend enhanced communication strategies internally and with network partners
  • Building Healthy Communities: bridging the gap to resources toward living healthy lifestyle
  • Child Nutrition Ambassador: pilot two new programs for summer meals – Family Summer Markets at summer meal sites and The Meals on the Move mobile meals route at open park sites.
