On an empty stomach, I can’t…

22/Sep/17 / 06:00

How do you feel on an empty stomach? For the families, children, and seniors who face hunger in Northern Illinois, an empty stomach makes it difficult to reach their full potential. To raise awareness of the issue of hunger, we asked our neighbors to finish the sentence: “On an empty stomach, I can’t…” for our paper plate campaign. Here are a few of the responses we received.

“Concentrate on the schoolwork I will need to advance myself and my family.”

“Think!!”

“Concentrate”

Every day, your neighbors in Northern Illinois wonder where their next meal will come from. It takes a full stomach to keep going! There are many ways you can help fill a plate with nutritious food that will provide the energy they need to take on the day. These supporters shared what volunteering for Northern Illinois Food Bank means to them:

“I would like to think if I needed help, someone in the position to do so would. If I am able to help, I feel it similarly important to what I can.”

“*No one in the world deserves to go hungry
*Everyone especially children needs food
*I love to help people in need”

“I love helping people in need!”

How will you help your neighbors in need this Hunger Action Month? Volunteer. Donate. Get Involved. It’s only together that we can solve hunger!

How You Can Help:
